My Mother in law keeps accidentally cooking too much and sending over table scraps for Smokey. I feel bad, but I throw most of it out and the bit I allow her, I mix into her food so she has to eat both the scraps and the kibble in her bowl.
I don;t know how to tell my MIL she is not doing Smokey any favor by sending this stuff over. She is a puppy and her puppy food has the proper nutrients she needs in it. A side of Elk does not!

Our vet had to tell my husband to stop feeding the dog table scraps and then he just "cut back". You have to work to make a Chihuahua get fat.
