Un Cluttering

A few weeks back I cleaned out all of our closets. Rainbow Man's too small clothes went to Blue Boy, Blue Boys went to Stuperman, but..I'm done having Babies, so who do I give Stuperman's too small pile too?

I have been burned each time I try and give a pile of baby clothes to friends or family. they either get thrown straight in the trash - good, no stained, clothes! Into the garbage, Or in one other case, the friend who was so hard up and desperately needed clothes for her son, she sold them in a garage sale.

Sigh.

I think I am taking them all down to the non profit. They will go to kids who need them, and not into the trash nor benefit people who don't deserve!

TOTALLY non-profit! Salvation Army, ARC (here)...even ask a church or Red Cross. There ARE people in need. ;-)

Most of mine went to Amvets. In addition to Tug's suggestions, maybe a shelter serving victims of domestic violence. They often leave with only the clothes on their (and their kids') backs and would definitely appreciate what you are offering.

I shop thrift stores all the time. I think it's a great idea. Sometimes people just don't apreciate what they didn't pay for... Don't ask me why. Half my wardrobe are hand-me-ups that my Mother-In-Law is too thin to wear now.

On the other hand, when my sister gives me shoes that she says are too worn out for her but good enough for me, I am offended for some reason.

Please, please, please send them to a non-profit. As you know, I do work at a domestic violence center and we are ALWAYS needing good boys clothes!!

I gave mine to the Canadian Cancer Society. They came and picked them up and everything!

Marilyn - I have asked my daughter if she'll wear my NEW shoes to get them broken in for me - lol. I much prefer her "broken in" hand-me-downs.
