I am SO annoyed!

I just got another telemarketer call! The number they called from was (unknown name) 140-747-8000. When I answered they started an automated spiel about how I had won an AMAZING opportunity for something (gasp!) amazing!!1!!

As this is not the first time I have been called to tell me I have won something amazing I decided to follow instructions, push nine and ask to be put on the do not call registry. Not surprisingly the person who answered could barely speak English, which isn't so bad as I interrupted him before his fourth word to demand my name and number be put on the do not call list.

imagine my surprise when he explained that they DO NOT put numbers on the list! I calmly explained to him that it is illegal to not keep a do not call list in Canada but he again refused my request. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he agreed that I could but he would have to put me on hold.

Damned if he didn't hang up on me instead of putting me on hold. I put in a *57 which is a call trace with our service provider, but the chances of them calling five more times int he next two weeks are pretty slim.

I even tried to call the number back so I could ask for a supervisor to ...express... my displeasure. They don't accept incoming calls it seems. I bet they do that 'cus they don't want to be bothered when they are BUSY!

Telemarketers - the companies who hire them, not the people who work for them - I understand the need for a job and would rather see someone be employed as a telemarketer than on welfare - but the telemarketer companies must have souls so black that even with a rechargeable flashlight you could not find a bit of light in them!
