I did something this weekend that I have not done in the past two years. I did not take my camera out of it's case the entire time!
One of the reasons is that the battery is almost dead and I was too lazy to pop it in the charger, but mostly, I wanted to just sit and enjoy my father in laws birthday weekend without having to see it from behind the lens of a camera!
Of course, I did miss some pretty good shots. The grand kids blowing out the birthday cake, Or when Parker dropped the ice cream cake and My Brother in Law Tim caught it before it hit the ground!
The shots I miss the most not getting were from Saturday afternoon when we took the boys shopping with us. As we exited Costco, the receipt checker told us that to the left of the doors was a fire truck and some firemen, and that the kids were welcome to talk with the firemen and take a tour of the truck.
It figures that the one day I do not have my camera with me is the day the boys get to sit in the drivers seat of a fire engine!

You'll have more chances, and if nothing else? You can call the firestation and request a time when the boys can come down so you can take pics.
I took my camera to my nephew's football game this weekend, and was so wrapped up behind the lens, I missed a lot of the game. I'll take it again because I missed shots of nephew punting, but that's all I want to get. The rest of the game I'll be running the sidelines, watching him without a camera!
